Matching Gifts

The Perfect Match: Your Gift and Vision & Vocational Services

In order to expand our programming and, in some cases, to meet all of the expenses involved in our mission, your donations are needed.  And to stretch your donation even further, many companies offer a gift matching program.   The way this works is that an employee notifies their employer of their contribution to Vision & Vocational Services and the employer matches the gift from its own resources.  This allows your gift to be doubled or tripled in size, which benefits our programs and clients in real, tangible ways.

Take Fred McGregor (name changed for privacy), for example.  Fred was a 30-year-old husband and father of two young children who worked as an electrician in a large plant until an accident caused him to develop blurred and double vision—neither of which is correctable.  After a visit to his work site, a Vision & Vocational Services low vision therapist identified adaptations that would help Fred overcome his visual limitations.  Fred was ecstatic that he was able to return to work!  Vision & Vocational Services helped him regain a sense of pride and competence in his abilities.  Fred’s happiness and independence were a direct result of our labor, made possible by your generous support.

When you and/or your spouse make a contribution to Vision & Vocational Services, check with any of the companies you may be associated with to see if a matching gift might be available.  People like Fred, who are fearful that their disability may cause them to lose their independence, will benefit from you and your company’s generosity.

Please contact the Development Department at 614-294-5571 with any questions you might have about the Matching Gift Program.
