Career Exploration
Qualified people with disabilities perform assembly, packaging, and inspection tasks for local employers.
Career Exploration helps a person decide what kinds of work he/she might be interested in pursuing, while providing some insight into motivation, follow through, and readiness to work. Guided by a vocational specialist, the person will explore vocational interests using Internet and text resources. Among the issues discussed will be what kinds of training would be required and how to get the training for a particular career, and what equipment and certifications may be needed to do the job. Informational interviews with employers and workers, training program teachers, college admissions advisors, and similar people in the field of interest may be arranged.
