Community-Based Assessment

Qualified people with disabilities perform assembly, packaging, and inspection tasks for local employers.

Community-Based Assessment provides a short-term job “tryout” with the goal of discovering vocational strengths and weaknesses.  This takes place in a competitive work setting such as a hotel, restaurant, nursing home, or office—depending on the person’s expressed interests.  Participants are paid for their work and usually work 20 hours per week.  Our on-site specialist will assign work duties, provide training to do new tasks, supervise and evaluate performance, provide feedback about work strengths, assess work readiness, and make recommendations for further services to help a person meet his/her employment goals.
